Work on Climate
Work on Climate is a non for profit on a mission to transform the talent ecosysmte and make climate work mainstream. Home to the world’s largest active climate community with over 30K+ global members.
I set up the events division, recruited, onboarded and led a team of 10 volunteers to deliver <40 interactive workshops and events per year.
Context
I joined as a volunteer Team Lead to set up the events division. Oversaw event programming and over <40 yearly events & workshops. Recruited, onboarded and scaled the team from 2-10, set quarterly OKRs, reporting frameworks and measurement processes. I also represented Work on Climate locally in London.
The Problem
Work on Climate needed an infrastructure framework for their community virtual workshops & events to enable volunteers to execute events more efficiently and at a regular cadence. Volunteers are globally distributed, and volunteer 5-6 hours week.
The Solution
I built best practice suite of playbooks, toolkits, recommended tools, templates and work flows to enable 10 volunteers to effectively work asynchronously to deliver global virtual events for the community. Cadence of quarterly retros and feedback from volunteers to ensure all elements of infrastructure was sustainably maintained and continuously relevant.
